Cabanas Beach or Praia de Cabanas in Portuguese is situated on the Ilha de Cabanas, another of the islands that form the unique Ria Formosa National Park. Like the other beaches within the Tavira County, it is reached by crossing the stretch of water that makes up the lagoon between the island and the mainland.
Once on the island there is a short walk. The first building you will see is the Paradise Beach Club, a wooden building where there are showers, toilets, a café etc. And then on to the beach. This is a blue flag beach that has been recognised internationally for it´s safety, cleanliness and clear, clean blue waters!! Here it is possible to rent sunbeds with umbrella sun protection and drink and eat at the bar cafés.
The golden sand stretches out either way so that there is never a feeling of overcrowding. There are activities along the beach for the more active but if you just want to lie back, relax and enjoy your well earned break this is a great place to do it.
